  • Yawn. This is a poorly executed launch. Poor because there is a serious shortage of partners supporting the launch. I'm not sure if this is a signal of Google's challenge of building trust with users who may see Google managing personal, confidential, and critical information as highly controversial. Believe it or not, I was more impressed with Microsoft's Health effort (http://healthvault.com/)--and a MSFT plug is rare for me.
  • Brad,

I don't know the answer to this, but does Microsoft have an API to bring
more partners to their Health initiative? Google is definitely playing
catch up, but with their "open" attitude, I still think it could be a good
    thing for the healthcare industry.
  • When there is ONE major EMR (electronic medical records) system vendor or ONE major PMS (practice management system) vendor onboard, then it will be worth a look. You still then have all the privacy/security concerns to deal with, manage, and pass industry and governmental audits.

Not saying it aint a good idea, but it's gonna be like hearding cats.
  • That's a great point Mike. Once there is a standard from the EMR and the
PMS vendors to use the Google API, then it should start to take hold.
Otherwise it's still hacking to bring records into and out of the system.
  • Google Health is the threat to humans and any health systems in general - it is, as this blog says: junkfood Science and as fare from healthy as it can get:
